311 CD Release in November
Last summer, The Note reported that Omaha, Neb. band 311 signed an eight-album deal with Capricorn Records. An advanced three-song CD will hit record stores nationwide on November 3. A full-length album, titled Music, is expected to be released February 9. The band members are sing Nick Hexum, drummer Chad Sexton, guitarist Tim Mahoney, bassist Aaron Wills and singer Doug Martinez.
Capricorn Vice President Mark Pucci describes 311 as “truly on the cutting edge of alternative music with their incredibly energized sound of rock, funk, hip hop, rap and worldbeat music.”
Publicist Marcia Slavers said the Capricorn label is attracted to bands who are talented in their own way. “There are influences in 311 that set them apart from everyone else- it’s really different music,” Slavers said.
No live dates or tours have been scheduled yet as the band is still negotiating management and agency contacts.
