What’s new on 311Archive.com? To be fair, it’s been more of the same. The archive is a continual project and will always be tweaked and updated. We’re in a new month, so we have a new download. We have a very early demo called Break Free for a track from 2019’s Voyager.
Speaking of early version of songs… There is exciting news out of the 311 camp. Nick confirmed on his Twitch channel that they would be getting back in the studio this month! This will be 311’s 14th major release.
Tidbits about the upcoming release have been hinted in interviews with the band members. In an interview with Variety, Nick says this, “We do have a hunger, and now we’ve started to say, ‘Wow, this is overdue. Let’s get going.’ We’re making new music right now… The first two songs that I brought to the table and the first two songs that Chad brought to the table were all in drop D… There’s definitely some heaviness going on, big rock riffs. We’re taking a lot of time to workshop them as a band to make sure that they’re kick-ass in the studio before we put them down… We’re setting the bar high and I think people are really going to be excited when they hear it.”
SA is quoted in BandWagon Magazine (July edition) as, “With Chad being in Arizona, he has to line it up where he can come out for a chunk of time. We’ve really only had two sessions, and they’ve only been like maybe four or five days each… We’re still in a very embryonic stage.”
