An Inside Track From Nick
Welcome: “This song was written to be an album opener originally appearing on the ‘Hydroponic’ 6-song cassette we made in Omaha.”
Visit: “The chorus of this song came from a hang at our ’92 Van Nuys home where we were looking through a book of musical instruments from all over the world. Chad remarked ‘I wanna visit the world.’ And I said, ‘That’s the chorus lyrics right there!’ and the song was born.”

Paradise: “This song was a celebration of what it was like to have our own band house together in Van Nuys. Pursuing our shared dream was out version of paradise.”
Unity: “‘Unity’ was the name of out first full length album and also the name of the band Chad, Tim, and I had in the late ’80s.”
My Stoney Baby: “This New Orleans funk influenced tune came about because we used the word ‘stoney’ to describe all things good.”
Nix Hex: “This song has a guest vocal from Daddy Freddy. Our friend and Jamaican rapper who was once listed in the Guiness Book of World Records as the world’s fastest rapper for his rapid fire reggae-hiphop flow.”
Do You Right: “I remember sitting by our pool at our band house when KROQ debuted the song. Tami Heide, the DJ, said, “This is what bands could like in Nebraska. I think we all need to move to Nebraska!”
Fat Chance: “The interlude before Fuck The Bullshit was called ‘Fat Chance’ because we gave it a slim chance to make it on the album. We couldn’t print the curse word title so we just used the segue title of ‘Fat Chance’, leading to some confusion of the title.”

Boy On The Cover:

A question that often comes up is who is the boy on the cover. The artwork was chosen by the label. However, the boy bares a strong resemblence to a boy in a photo from WeeGee called ‘East Side Murders’. The band dubbed the boy ‘Herb’.
