AN INSIDE TRACK WITH NICK HEXUM

Timebomb…
“The dancehall’s back, what you know about that.”  This one is old school.  Strong album opener that pays homage to our dedicated fans known as the “excitable ones”; and a song that will surely be fun to play live. Fast rapping and word play make this one an energy peak for the album.

Wild Nights….
Wild Nights of the past (and those yet to come) shaped who we are today.  The mistakes and triumphs are memorialized in this up-tempo jam.

“Sunset in July” is about what we love most about being in 311, playing live.  “Watching you dancing and having the time of your life.”  We get off on watching our fans as much as they do us!

“Trouble” is a really strong song that has a heavy reggae groove mixed with crooning, and confessional lyrics.

Weightless
This song is about how we are all connected.  The separations between different people are mostly illusion.

“And A Ways to Go” is a real trip.  It goes through many movements, building in intensity until the big frolic at the end.  SA’s raps tell a really vivid story about a dream he had.  The song is about the search for meaning and the trip that is life.
